Have you received your RPPs? How many sets have shipped? Seems like a slow process.

The first batch are shipped from the original orders, way back. What we need to know is if you have received your RPP's,

1. Did you order in that batch.

2. If not what was your camera delivery date.

my red prime reservation was NOT by camera # ..i ordered back in 2007 ...

I ordered during NAB this year and was given a time frame of end of July or early August.
Mind you this is only a guesstimate, but at least I have some frame of reference in order to start getting cash together.

The ladies at "the club" are going to be so dissapointed.

i was given an estimate of May...

I ordered 22nd May 09 and was given a guesstimate of August.

my RED delivery date was august 08

Sonic Films received our Red Pro Primes Monday and they are currently out on a Nintendo commercial shoot. Anyone else in the UK got them?

Paul

Ordered during NAB '07. Should have them by the end of next week.

Just to give you guys an idea. I was told I'll get my set end of July mid-August.

Placed my deposit online the first day and have serial number 59XX.

I'm pretty much last on the list of firsts (if that makes any sense).

Not that i know of, any chance i could come down and have a look at them paul, when they come back in?

We ordered in May 08 and I think we can pick them up end of next week. Excited.

Could someone who has them tell me the 2 lengths of the lenses, with PL caps in place - I've got 7 and 9 inches is that right ? I'm having a custom case made and want to get it right.

Ordered NAB 2009 and was also told end of July - to mid August. also remember
Jarred saying they are raming up fast now that the minor details (markings and such)
were completed, they can go full bore on production... but initially caused a slight week or two delay... so Im guessing end of August.

EDIT: I now recall the delay was only relative to the first batch going out to earlier reservation people and that
it (delay) wont affect latter orders . search his threads, you will find it in May June

Yeah, I'm really quite bummed about the time-window apprently being shrunk, I was led to believe that by promptly ordering at NAB, I would get my RPPs MONTHS ahead of the bulk of the order, so I did a quickie business plan around this concept. So what's the point of the whole 'RESERVE NOW!' when the reserve loses it's value?

Hi Bob,

The primes are going to be out paying for themselves till next Thursday except for Monday but we'll likely be prepping for the following shoots so it will be hectic. It might be possible next Friday or the weekend.

Give me a call on 07786444333 or send an email to paul@sonicfilms.co.uk early next week and I'll try and arrange something. It's a busy period for us at the moment so I'm hesitant to make any promises :)

On a plus side the lenses performed beautifully on the Nintendo Ad we've just shot. I'm very impressed with the build quality and the overall look and feel of the lenses. The 25 and 35mm are slightly larger than one might like but not overly larger than Cooke S4's. All of the camera crew I spoke too really liked them. I've been prepping the offline and the footage looks great from both the zoom and the primes. I've asked production to let us have a copy of the final commercial and I will upload and post on Reduser. I might be able to post a 4k grab tomorrow but I've got to check first. I've done a few commercials for Nintendo and used S4's, MP's and UP's in the past and these lenses for me are on a par with each of those for this type of shooting environment. How they hold up in other scenarios remains to be seen but I'm very confident to advise clients to go with them instead of the more commonly known primes.

Cheers
Paul

We got a set. We ordered in 2007.

I think the Red black case that Red sells is too big. The six hole case the Cookes are in is about half the size
