Whenever I want to burn a dvd i use idvd because don't know how to use DVD studio pro. iDVD's compression looks bad to me, and today I got a call from a friend who ask if I new how to burn with DVD Studio because he couldn't burn with iDVD for some reason.

So I figured I'd ask if any of you new of a simple way to burn video with DVD studio. I dont care about flashy menus and 5.1 sound, I just want the thing to play in a DVD player.

THANKS! :)

the key to having the compression look good in dvd studio pro is to compress to mpeg-2 in compressor first - but if that's over your head, just drop your video files in to DVD studio pro and they should still look better than iDVD. with the windows settings on "advanced" so you can see everything, Drag the video and/or sound file to the timeline... then in the upper left window click the image of the dvd itself (top of the hierarchy) and then in the lower right window where there are settings for the overall dvd, there's a drop down called "first play" - this selects what it sounds like... just select the track you dropped the video files in to and you're telling it to go ahead and play that video as soon as the DVD is in.

Finally, just click burn at the top and insert a DVD.
