I've been working on a film for the past 5 years which we've shot in over 15 countries. The film is about the search for Noah's ark. We just got back from a 2 month shoot across India and China. Here are a few frames from the trip. We lit the old couple with an LED flashlight and VIDLED. Hope you enjoy!

Those are extremely beautiful shots! What lens did you use? 4k or 2k? The shots look little bit soft.

I shot in 4k 16x9 with a high-speed Nikon lens set. They are all prime lenses with one 80-200mm zoom. The Nikon 85mm prime is a gorgeous lens to use. Thanks for the kind comment.

genius locations! I was just shooting out in China and India

Thanks. Yeah, I've come to learn how important it is in choosing locations. We travelled 2500 miles by car, 25 hours by train, and a few hours by plane, to shoot some great locations in China.

The forth shot is amazing. Is that the old man's tent?

Yeah, that is his tent. Here's another image showing how skinny he was when his robe accidently was blown off from the wind.

We had crossed the Ganges river at about 4:30am with the intention of filming something else. The Ganges is where they burn the dead bodies and throw bodies into the river. This old man is called a Sadhu, which is a term for a practitioner of Hinduism that is soley dedicated to achieving moksha (liberation). He had setup his tent just about a hundred yards from the river and was waking up when we arrived at about 5am. You're moved to tears when you see how some people live in other parts of the world. The poverty and malnutrition is quite disturbing.

Wow, beautiful! :-)

This is amazing. That is an enormous undertaking. The images really reflect the passion you have for the project and the experience. 5 years put into it, and it shows. I would love to see some footage. I'm sure you guys have some great trailers cut together. Seriously, great work. Good luck in your future endeavors.

cool!

Good light, superb on this dark china olds!

Thanks guys. It is quite an enormous undertaking. We are approaching year six to work on this film and sometimes I wonder if I'm crazy. There's really no telling how it will turn out in the end. Regardless, we are all grateful for the places we've seen, things we've done and the opportunity to do what we love: film.

The film is mainly about my research at a site in Turkey that looks like a boat. Is it Noah's ark? I'm trying to find out. I've been there on four occasions.

Amazing shots. Would you mind sharing where these stills were taken?

Amazing shots. Would you mind sharing where these stills were taken?

The shot of the Sadhu (man with the robe blowing in the wind) was shot on the bank of the Ganges river in India in the city of Varanasi (capital of Hinduism). The Guru sitting on the steps is also at the Ganges river in Varanasi.

The old couple was shot in a Hmong village in Hunan province in China. We travelled quite a distance by train and car to get to this village. On the way, we saw some crazy stuff, like some villagers cookin up some dog for dinner! See picture.

The village was just outside Fenghuang, an absolutely beautiful town in China. If you ever travel to China definitely visit Fenghuang. The shot of me on the boat is from Fenghuang.

Here are two stills from a movie set in Beijing that I rented for a day to shoot an old man playing a flute. The set is designed to look like an ancient Chinese city. We had 5 extras, some lights, generator, smoke machine and a few grip. Trying to direct with a Chinese interpreter is difficult.

Wow, that shot with the man with the flute looks amazing.

It looks like a frame from a Kung Fu movie, it's so soft, and the colors are pastel and beautiful. Great work with that one.

Can't wait to see more.

Thanks for the info! I've wanted to visit the East for some time now, so this is extra motivation for me to do so sooner rather than later.

Good luck in completing your project.
