  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Water Drops 100mm Zeiss ZF

Roberto,

Leica M system has 21mm f/1.4 that is the fastest wide angle of any 35mm still lenses, also 24mm has f/1.4 option...

Noctilux M 50mm f/0.95 is the fastest FF35 in production...

Just had a look at the Leica page and man those lenses are sick. If I had the free cash I would snag up a set. Seems like if I had Duclos Lenses mod these guys that might be on the same level with some cinema glass. I'm just saying that based on the specs. I have no idea as to the mechanics of the Leica lenses, which I'm sure cinema glass has a much bigger edge on.

Oh.... 21mm f/1.4 is nice!

I think the same Andrew... one would expect the mechanics to be superb. The question is how long is the throw in each of them.

Sanjin, can you answer that? How long is the throw on your lenses? I would really appreciate it if you could give us a good estimate for each of the M series that you already own, or any that you know well.

Leica M and R lens focus throw starting from 300° for primes to 340° for macro lenses, pretty good for still lenses.

Wow, that is pretty good for stills. That's about the same throw for the Zeiss ZF's.

I'll post some impact shots when I get home from the shoot today.

I had my shutter speed set relative to the frame rate. So at 120fps 1/2000th of a second becomes 1/10,000 of a second. Its the only way that those shots would make any sense because in 4K 1/2000 they were very blurry.

I thought 1/2000 was the R1s fastest shutter speed? If you're saying that 1/2000 in relative mode becomes 1/10000th, I've not noticed..

Ps, The Zeiss 85mm is a T1.4, a real nice lense
