  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RedUndead Uncovered something odd

You ever do a multicamera shoot with some one elses drives? Maybe one got swapped?

Nick

This happened to me on a multicamera shoot. I had my EVF and drives swapped and got back someone else's drives and EVF.

I've never done a multicamera shoot let alone let anybody other than myself use the camera. This is very weird and suspicious as though the drive was refurbished since the guy looked just like the one Jefferey pointed out. Jefferey, if you ever get in contact with that man, you should ask him if he was on a shoot ever.

My guess would be that someone bought a drive and returned it as new/unused to red but sneakily used it before returning it.

Yeah, I did some research on Bart Durham, and he has shot many commercials for his services and I'm guessing my drive was used even though I bought it new -- go to Youtube, you'll even see him in one of his commercials wearing the same outfit as the grab. Not sure how Red could have accepted a used drive, they must check.... Unfortunately, this is unacceptable as I purchased a "new" hard-drive, and there will be repercussions...

Maybe Red could sell demo gear, wherein we knowlingly get something used in exchange for discounts

....Unfortunately, this is unacceptable as I purchased a "new" hard-drive, and there will be repercussions...

Hi Mike,

A word of advice... Nobody likes to be threatened. I am sure this was an honest mistake and Red will bend over backwards to fix the problem. For your sake, please do not take the low road.

I recently had a fairly rough problem which could have caused me a lot of problems with my productions... I made one phone call and everything got handled in a quick, courteous and professional manner. These people love their work and they love supporting us... I promise you will be taken care of promptly.

Things happen... be polite and all will be well.

Good Luck,

I got the footage working by the way; here it is:

http://mivid.net/video/4802/Odd-Footage-Found-On-Red-One-Camera

It's literally 3 seconds short, but there were some more that got erased.
It's clear that they did multiple shoots with the drive, if anybody knows this exact clip from one of the commercials, please let me know.

For your sake, please do not take the low road.

I haven't taken any road yet... I am patient and I get all the facts before jumping to significant conclusions....

Well Mike, then I clearly misunderstood,"...Unfortunately, this is unacceptable as I purchased a "new" hard-drive, and there will be repercussions..."

I didn't come here to make a spectacle of Red, I love them, too much... I came here solely for the facts, which I received and really appreciated. I never stated what I meant at all by repercussions, and by unacceptable I only meant that I was surprised and was looking for some kind of answer. Now if this was a company like Dell or Sony which I depise in every possible way, they would have a major issue on their hands, but as I said Red is the best company in every way so I would never do anything of the sort. Besides, there isn't a better camera company out there for me to turn to if my relation with Red goes sour...
