Hello,
I am going to start initial shooting in a little more than two weeks on the RED camera, This is the first time our production company has used the RED ONE. I'm on a 24 in. iMac with a 3.06 gHz processor and ATI Readon HD 4850 graphics processor with 512MB of GDDR3 memory, and a 1TB 7200-rpm serial ATA internal hard drive, and 6gb of ram. What I am running up against is, what should i use for a RAID, I have been told that a 2-bay 2TB RAID 1 would be good, I am a little confused for its my first time with red and only my second feature film. Also we will be shooting for 3 weeks so I need a solution to store 3 weeks of files for a 10 million dollar feature.

Thanks so much in advance for the help.

how did this get on recon?

Holy crap! A $10m feature needs more than just a RAID for data protection. And 2TB is definitely not enough storage space. You will need 2 separate copies (by separate I mean stored in different locations) and an LTO backup.

Editorial has a 4 bay-4TB RAID and me (Data Tech) i have a 2 bay- 2TB RAID. With 4 dicks that will be in rotation from me to editorial and back. What do you think would be substantial
