So I read on the web that the new version of FCP is coming out in the new two weeks. Is that true? Or is that they are going to postpone it one more time?

Anybody heard anything ?
R3D friendly ?
Blue Ray Capabilities?
A better set of controllers?

I'd be surprised

I'd be surprised

I belong to a group of film maker in Silicon Valley.

We meet at the Apple campus pretty frequently.

They were scheduled for a presentation tomorrow on the "New Pro Apps", and the meeting was canceled today and pushed until July.

Thus, I think we've got some time yet.

And that's OK with me. Buggy software is not your friend.

Apple. Bluray? Oh this I have to see. Isn't there some inside private joke that Apple will never support Bluray?

I read Sept as well.

Pretty much everyone agrees that Color is going to see a major UI overhaul and Red Code is going to be supported natively. Also, expect real-time rendering (or background rendering).

I'm not an insider, I'm just reporting what I read from people who claim to be.

What they need to develop is render caching, akin to what the Avid DS does. That would be a quantum leap for FCP users.

My fear is that the hold up on FCS3 be related to a pending sale... The Adobe rumors have been around for a long time, which necessarily wouldn't be a bad thing , but now Autodesk's name is being thrown around as a possible buyer :head_explode: Whatever the hold up, I hope we see it soon!

That meeting in July, you speak about... July seems like an interesting month for us Mac Editors...

I'm just saying

Premiere is just as good as final cut and does a few things FC can't (especially on a PC).
But I switched to Mac a year ago and I'm Apple certified in Final Cut I just don't use premier any more.
Everything I do goes through After Effects, though, via Automatic Duck.
I look forward to seeing FCS III. I'm happy with II, so I'm not in a hurry.
