  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

57 Camera RED Shoot

no QTake HD. there was fibre cable run to splitters, and then each signal was put into a 'bank' of 12-screen split. So, really only had to set up 5 HD recording systems to record and playback all 57. Then out to the 5 X large plasmas for director's viewing.

Worked like a dream, thanks to all the guys running the cable...

Methinks this needs a spot on the podcast.

holy cow. How many reds are from Sim Video? how many other freelancer cams?

Due to our other cameras being busy, we only had 7 on the shoot. Most cameras came from other established rental houses, (London, NYC, Montreal, LA and Vancouver) other than a few freelancers who we know.

Total count was:

72 bodies (57 cameras live)
60 custom made camera cases
240 Lenses
6 cameras transmitted from vehicles
2,400 meters of Fiber optic
57x 120 foot start stop cables with Viewfactor Origos
5 50 inch plasmas with 12 cameras shown on each plasma
3 seriously sleep deprived weeks for yours truly....

Yes! please!

I can't wait to see how 57 different cameras would possibly be used in a 30 or 60 second spot. I can't even imagine...

And every single camera went back to their respective owners with all their accessories, and not a single mixup - hu?

Very impressive, I have used up to five cameras at once, and I thought I was a big player...

Looking forward to seeing this!
