  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RPP's Now Shipping....

Jarred, should we put a downpayment on the case if we want it at the same time as when we're ready to receive the prime set? Or, are there enough cases, that we can just add it when we finalize the primes order?

Yeah, that was kind of my question, too.
What will the shipping of the lenses cost?
What will the shipping of the lenses AND the case cost?

I'm very interested in this case. Black is beautiful...

What is the weight of the Red prime case? This is very important because the total weight of the lenses (assuming the 18mm is 6lbs like the 25mm) will be around 31lbs
so if the case is any more than 19lbs then it will be subject to overage charges on airlines and won't even be allowed on some smaller, puddle jumper planes.
 
Evin, that's exactly what I was thinking. Let's hope it's under 50lbs!

On a side note I got back from a shoot in South Africa where I stripped down my RED with 18-50, EVF, LCD, battery, and Red Drive in a Kata OC-84 Carry-On. My "Laptop" backpack held the RED charger w/a second battery mounted, a Canon 200mm 1.8, Arri MMB1 and ND filter set. It took a while but worked very well.

I cannot imagine RED would ship the lenses in the case. What happens if you get them and find that , say the 50mm has some issue with it. How do you send it back? Who is responsible for said damage? What happens to RED's original packaging and paperwork that is supposed to be included with the lens. It is a question of liability.
 
Jarred, Any chance you could post the foam cut out dimensions (cad) for the RPP's. I love the Red case but I'm going with a case that matches my existing cases.

I meant are you actually serious that you thought it was a deal breaker... it seemed a bit odd to me that $200 shipping on a $20,000 fragile product composed of 6 rather large heavy boxes shipped half way around the world was offensive to you.

Wasn't he quoting the shiping cost for the case ? For the primes of course that is quite fine, for the case however that is a bit steep.

All sorts of other custom made case options are available on the internet. Look at a few custom cases and see which you think is best. There are big variations in foam quality and outer shell. The hardware is pretty much all the same. Most vendors already have a few designs for Red body and aks.
