I'm thinking I may need to get a Red One before the Scarlet S35 and FF35 come out. If I buy a Red One now, can the trade-in/trade-up apply towards the Scarlet S35 or Scarlet FF35?

If the Scarlet model I want costs less than the trade-in, what happens to the difference? Can it apply to accessories for the Scarlet?

If I buy Red brand accessories for the Red One can those be traded in for Scarlet accessories since I'm assuming some of them won't work with the Scarlet?

Hey Mike,

Welcome to Red User!

The trade in program is only for Epic, where you get 100% trade in value.
There are no trades for Scarlet.

My understanding (99% sure) is you qualify as long as you order a Red One before Epic is formally available, but you should check with Red just to be 100%.

There is also a special Epic model, EPIC X, just for Red One owners that includes some free modules to make it completely functional out of the box. From memory the cost is an additional $10k or so beyond the cost of the Red One.

This is a Hell of a deal, and one you won't find with another company, anywhere!

I've had my Red One for 9 months and it was the smartest thing I've ever done.

Only going to get better from here!

i believe if you have a REDone and do not trade it in on a Epic because you want to go Scarlet .. you keep your Redone and you get a $1200 discount on the scarlet ... your serial nuimber on the Redone is then marked off as you "used the UPGRADE trade in " = which means that serial number cannot be traded in on a EPIC at a later date or used to get another discount on a scarlet ...

Thanks for the info guys. This forum is plethora of information all around.

I've been looking at doing this for quite some time now, and it looks like I have some more thinking to do. The One-Epic X trade-up is a hell of a deal indeed. It's just at least $10,500 more I'd have to plan on shelling out ($28,000 minus the $17,500 trade-in value, right?), and something I wasn't sure I'd need. Plus there's the new accessories. I assume then that the One accessories that don't fit the Epic X can't be traded in for Epic X accessories?

Will the epic be viable for future trade ins, like the R1? Can we go for the epic x and trade it in against, (the 28K model for example) when it becomes available? What I guess im asking is, how long is that $17500 good for?

I haven't gone back thru the posts to check but, I'm under the impression that even if you purchase a RED ONE after the Epic is released ... you would still be eligible for the trade in. ie I think any "not executed" RED ONE can be traded in as long as the deal is in effect. (I hope my 100th post isn't bogus information!)

No. Epic can't be traded-in for a new Epic. If there is a particular model of Epic that you want, I suggest you wait for that model to become available before trading-in your R1. Or, you can always trade for the Epic-X and then sell it when the Monstro becomes available.

Don't worry, you are in the same predicament as the rest of us who would prefer a Monstro sensor but think the Epic-X deal is too good to pass up.
