Hi,
I'm about to buy a storage server for my MacPro, after a research I have almost decided for the following:
1. Infortrend EonStor A16F-G2430-M5 19"Rack-3U; 16-Bay SATA HD; 2x FCAL-4gbit; RAID-0/1/5/6 (http://www.span.com/spanstor_system.php?products_id=8516)
2. Apple's Dual-channel 4Gb Fibre Channel PCI Express card
The projects i'm about to deal with, is feature films and the material will be R3D, 4K 2:1.
The workflow will be:
1. Editing in FCP
2. Color grading in Redcine.
3. Color grading in Color (in needed)
4. Compositing and fx in AE CS4
5. 2K dpx output files
Is this configuration ok?
Do I need anything else?
Is the extra cost for Quad-channel 4Gb Fibre Channel PCI Express card worth it?
Is there any special settings for the storage device which will boost the performance of the whole system?
Any piece of advice is welcome
Thanks
