Getting "Ramp" assigned to user key to work

Hi, I checked the manual and did a search but haven't found how to get ramping to be triggered by an assigned user key. I've upgraded to Build 17 (which now allows ramping to be assigned), assigned ramp to key 2. But regardless of what I do, the key seems to do nothing.... any suggestions?
