Any where in US.
Must have Insurance.

Wow, seriously? Standard book rate on a Bartech single channel system is only $125/day, $375/week. Why would someone pay 25% more for the Viewfactor?

Can't use Bartech for wireless control of focus/iris on Canon lenses with Birger mount.

Hey Mitch,

View Factor FF is Serious Unit.
- auto positioning
- Wirless Record Start/Stop Button
- Changing Motor Direction
- reduced weight and bulkiness
- Inclino motors over a high bandwidth bus cable or wireless Bluetooth connection
And so on....

I have nothing against the Viewfactor. I just wonder if you'll get a higher rate for it than what is already established in the industry. The Bartech can do essentially what the VF can do except auto-calibrate. Not knocking the VF, I just know what the rental market is like having been in that business for a couple of decades. Good Luck, I hope you get your price.

I think he is trying to cash in on being an early owner and recouping some of that subrental money that came about during this whole mess. Hey if someone needs it now, all the power to ya.

Bartech is serious unit as well Kwan. So is Preston.

I have used the VF, love it more than the Bartech but $500/week? Saying it's a "serious unit" doesn't justify the rate... How many motors do you have in your package?

Maybe it is a little over priced for a weekly rate but the use of remote focus is at a growth.
Couple of feature films 35mm or 16mm been here recently and the operator wants to be free with his camera from the focus puller hands.
With the rapid pace of shooting the focus puller is also better keeping a distance from the camera.
I have just got my unit and still haven't had the time to try it but the little Origo seems to work quite well. Chapeau Curt!!!
I will try my Impero and Inclino around Wednesday.

Hey Shawn,
definitely, Bartech is serious as well, So is Preston ... nothing against it. I used to rent Wireless FF from Abel, Above $500/week (years back).

I'm Pretty sure that $500/week reasonable price for June 2009.
Redone started from $2000/day, now some one renting for $150/day (lol)

Fellowz worry free, This is first time to balance VF-FF in rental market. It will change.. But for now $500 period for June 2009

VF Owners -- Any suggestion -- Rental range for July 2009?

A big thank You to all.

Hey Shawn,
Currently single Motor... One more due in July (may be)... Curt is doing his maths to happy others... so I can't stress him, he has done enough for us..
Let me know if my unit can play in LA...

Kwan,

C'mon really? $500? Do you only have the unit with the short range and unpredictable reliability except for wired and slightly noisy motor (the reason ALL the other units bar the very few in the market are on hold because of)?
Bit of a difference between comparing the RED One when it came out against the follow focus unit...big reach IMHO. But heh, if someone is crazy enough to pay that kind of money for the VF unit in its current limited state of beta testing units, well then they deserve to fork out and well, deserve it. Can i ask by the way, are you informing those customers that at the moment the unit is really only in a beta phase so have a back up as well? Or do you have additional motors etc or another unit? I only ask as i informed my clients with the RED in it's initial models was still 'teething'.

If you get a rental at that i say good for you, when i get mine i would be very happy for half that. Good luck to you, i hope you get it and it sets a bit of a market for you.

Just to note that i am a customer of VF and waiting for the unit to be ready from testing and delivered to me. I support VF and believe this unit will be awesome and extremely competitive when finished.

hey brigham,
All I can say, My unit is All Booked Up! 'til July 02, I'm taking a reservation for July.
Thanks For The Input

Curious people pay curious prices.

It's all a bit curious to me....

Great for you Kwan, good one! I hope I am able to get 25% of the units cost back in one week and paid off in one month. But unfortunately the people that may rent mine are not so easily sold, they wouldn't rent an beta testing unit at premium prices. Obviously now after getting bookings for a month it has changed your mind about VF?

Double thumbs up for getting the rentals!

Haha. I was thinking the same thing....

So, to get my FF early all I need to do is throw a tantrum?

:willy_nilly:

VF will ship me something just to shut me up....

just kidding. Congrats on your rentals!
