Hey everyone,

Our EVF has one of it's user programmable buttons doing an image zoom when nothing is mapped to the user-programmable buttons. A reset of all the camera's settings hasn't removed it. Has anyone else seen this? Any workarounds? This has been a constant source of frustration over the last couple of days.

It's the button nearest to eyepiece that is doing the image zoom.

That button cannot be turned off, it is similar to the button on the LCD that fits the image to the monitor.

That button on the EVF is not one of the 5 programmable buttons. And its permanently a image zoom.

Yikes. I enjoy the RED but that's really, really frustrating. Hope they change that in a future build.

yes me too, what the point of having user programable buttons if half of them are not?

I have had times where the DP new to the red has asked for a wider lens not knowing it's been zoomed in, or they end up scraching there head for a bit.

I'm used to it now, if i see a operator look in the EVF and pull back looking all confused I know exactly whats happend.

If you put the title safe on you get a + in the center whitch changes to a x when zoomed in, so you can quickly tell strait away whats going on!

also it's anoying you cant put peeking and F-colour on a seperate button, i have been asked for that so mainy times.

Well, they've been gradually adding in the programmable functionality to new buttons with each successive build, so it's likely that eventually the two remaining ones will become programmable too.
