Hi, is it possible to work with Premiere and the CS4 Red plug in in Windows XP 32-bit?

Does is it work in XP 64-bit? or does it HAVE to be in Vista?

Frank

Yes, its possible. I work with Premiere 4.1 + Red Plugin with Win XP 32 Bit.
And i hear that it also works with Vista. Don't know about the 64 bit version of WinXP.

Works fine in Windows XP 32bit. Of course with a 32bit OS you are limited to a bit over 3GB of RAM that the OS will see and be able to make use of. Adobe recommends 16GB for 4K footage as being the sweet spot, though currently that's all but impossible to do on any board other than a dual CPU socket server board given that 2GB sticks of DDR3 are the biggest available today.

My current system is already full with 6x 2GB sticks for 12GB which works fine IMHO.

Interesting.

Well I got it to work in my system so thanks!

I'm wondering how much better performance I can get if I go to Xp/64bit and a Striped array as opposed to Vista 64.

Does the Raid only help with loading the footage fast? I'm assuming play back smoothness is up to how fast your ram is?
