  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

DOP Reel (all red)

Some really awesome stuff in there, Matt. Lookin' really good. Love the shootout scene!

Looks good man. I also liked the shootout scenes. But some of those last shots were really cool too. Liked the lens flares. Were those all in the lens or was there some kind of filter for that.

Thanks guys.
Andrew, if you tell me where in the video I'll tell you what was used. Most likely they are from the lomo 50mm anamorphic.

It was just the last couple clips and it looked like a Lomo anamorphic flare.

Matt its a great work but is it possible to see a complete work of 2 minutes .. then clips from various shoots !

Nice shots!

Generally I find that using a single song under footage equalizes the footage a lot and takes away the reason why it was made. The footage becomes unwantedly generic, IMO.

I would prefer to see samples with the original soundtrack. I know that people who shoot TVCs have an advantage in this regard but there are many ways to mix music clips, scenes of a feature, doc-stuff and commercials to a meaningful and - foremost -personal showreel. Cutting the best-of-all together with a nice piece of music is a bit too easy, isn't it?

Kind Regards,

Hans

Fantastic stuff Matt. Really dig the use of anamorphic glass. It says on your bio you moved to LA and started in the editorial department, and then moved into the camera dept. How was it making that transition? I'm curious to know what the market is like in LA, I would imagine it's rather competitive what with all the talented folks that move out there to work in the film industry.

At any rate keep up the great work, it's really inspiring.

Thanks everybody!
Working on a longer, more narrative version. Still waiting for some projects to finish up. I'm still trying to make the transition from AC to DP. This is my quick attempt to get people interested in my work.
