What is the rationale behind why some lenses are stabilized. The FF35 has a few chioces but the s35 dosen't. is it possible to use the FF35 electronic lenses on the s35?

And do we know if the (fixed lens) will be stabililized? It seems essential if some of the smaller configuations are going to be handheld by many, including me.

I would say that Fixed Scarlet may be the biggest candidate for stabilization. We don't know anything about that lens other that they say it will blow our mind, so it very well may be stabilized! Yummy...

About FF35 stabilized lenses on S35, I wouldn't see why they wouldn't allow all of the functions of their FF35 lenses to work on every camera, even all the way down to 2/3 Scarlet.

Just my 0.02 worth of speculation.

I hope so, I loved the IS lenses for my DSLR. Although i'm not sure if they are AS useful when filming motion picture, but for still images they made a definite difference when not using a tripod.

I've seen some tests shot with the 5d MII comparing handheld footage shot with and without IS and the difference was quite noticable. And the still lens IS on Canon's glass isn't even meant for video, so it's kind of like a bonus for it to work well with the video mode too. I'm guessing other optical stabilizing systems will provide similar or even better results.
