December 2009 - Holy Grail of Cinema Coming?

[Tom Lowe]

Some rumors now circulating that Malick's "Tree of Life" will open in Dec 2009, to qualify for awards season. On top of this will be Cameron's groundbreaking "Avatar," also debuting in Dec 09.

Aren't you worried about creating or having overly high expectations?

I can't help it, David.

In Malick I Trust. :sifone:

[Brad Webb]

Avatar will not let us down.

[Ethan Cooper]

maybe I'm too cynical but anything and everything has the potential to let you down.

[Shawn Nelson]

Well given Tom's opinion of "New World", he clearly isn't judging Malick based on story, character, arc, etc, :sifone:

so to have high expectations that Malick gives us another awesome screensaver is probably a fair wager :couch:

[Tom Lowe]

Blasphemy! I guess this is due payback for my Shawn vs DSMC post. :smash:

Shawn,

Lol before tangling with Shawn I should have remembered....

The New World is one of my favorite films. Its dreamlike quality and the feeling like you've been on a journey is special. This film requires you to be patient and it will reward you.
