looI'm editing a project in FCP that was shot on RED. I edited for two days with no problems. Now when I try and open up my project, FCP goes through a LONG string of messages saying "searching for movie data in file xxxx.R3D"

Once final cut DOES open, If I double click a clip in the browser to try and bring it up in the viewer, It brings up the searching message again. The clip does in fact load up at his point.

Any suggestions?

I'm having this same issue. The footage will run off the original portable drive that we first transferred it to but I've transferred it to two separate drives that we have never had any trouble with before and everytime I try to run the project from these drives it has this searching for movie data error. It is driving me nuts. I'm transferring all the footage to a third drive at the moment and waiting yet another 2 hours to see if that will work.

We weren't generating proxies automatically when we shot and this had to be done via redrushes, is there any possibility that this could be causing the error? I also can't get the footage to load in clipfinder from either of the drives I have transferred the data to.

Does anyone have any other suggestions as to how to fix this problem?

Thanks.

thanks hans, will try that now and let you know how I get on.
