Audio and /i Pins Upgrade Program

We are preparing for the upgrade for the i/pin upgrade program, and this will unfortunately require sending the camera back to RED for installation.

This process will start during the last week of September, in order of serial number, and we are targeting a 48 hour turnaround

Is this in progress?

Hi Brent, Can you please give an idea about how many cameras have been upgraded with audio board.

Thanks

Viewfinder,

You are correct. We sent out the email to 700-800 this week. If anyone has questions feel free to email me (bfair-at-red-dot-com) or John Restivo (upgrades-at-red-dot-com)

Thanks,
Brian

Hi Bret, can you give us an idea how many upgrades you are doing a month. I noted in January you were into the 700's. My Red is into the 2700's, but I am now based in the UK (were you originally stated you would be retrofitting in London for Europe) Is there a different order here?
I have never been able to use the audio on my Red due to the constant hum (which is impossible to filter out as the frequencies are similar to the human voice). I do appreciate what you guys are doing, it would help to get an idea of when.

IVfilms,we are up through #1900 right now. Should be only a few more months until the #2700 range is up.

UK is on same schedule as US.

This is the final notice for the RED upgrade program. If you have any cameras that have not been through the RED upgrade program, you must email upgrades - at - red - dot - com by August 14, 2009 if you intend to send them in for upgrade.

Only cameras invoiced before September 15, 2008 would need to be upgraded. If you have any questions as to whether or not your camera has been upgraded, please remove the lens cap on your camera and check to see if i/pins are installed. If so, your camera has been upgraded or was delivered with current generation hardware. There is no need to send in the camera for upgrade.

If not and you would like to take advantage of the RED upgrade program, please contact John before August 14, 2009. The upgrade program will only be performed at our US (Lake Forest, CA) and European (Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, England) RED facilities.

If you confirm that you still plan on sending in your camera(s) for the RED upgrade program, John will send you additional details and instructions at that time. For any and all questions regarding the RED upgrade program, please consider John your direct contact:
