  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I have just bought the New Mac Ori (Dual 2.26) and it seems that compressor it use just 20 of the CPU (encoding dvd for example)

Does anyone having the same results ?
There is any way to encode more than one clip at once?

Compressor will not encode more than one file at once the way Episode Engine will (i.e. break apart and stick back together). However it will take advantage of all 8 cores in your system. My 2.26 Nehalem sings with compressor...
 
Compressor will go a clip at the time. What I do to make things go faster is to create a virtual cluster so it treats each of your cores like a separate system, breaking up your file into separate files, making compressor faster.

Using estimate results, I was enconding a file yesterday, a 5 minute SD video and used compressor. The standard method by using "this computer" was goign to take about 10-15 minutes. The cluster I set up on a 4 core mac pro took about 7 minutes. So it does save time.
