What is the best handheld, HD, awesome low light camcorder out there right now?

What about a Leica D-Lux 4 or Panasonic LX3? Both are essentially the same camera, just different brands and freebies included. 720p video at 24fps and they make great still cameras too.

Speaking from experience with an FZ28(same image processing and compression rate) the Mjpeg artifacting renders it almost unusable in low light, and you can see this on vimeo.

Seems like the 5D is the winner right now?

Can anyone out there comment on the new Rebel T1i? That does 720P apparently and is less than half of what a 5D costs

The 5D2 will be perfect for your ride on the bike. There is a video somewhere on Vimeo showing some guys who mounted at 5D2 to the handlebars of their BMX bikes and rode around a city at night. They even did stunts and backflips with the camera mounted!

As Browning mentioned, there can be aliasing, but only sometimes, triggered by patterns in bricks, roofs, water, etc.
