Is there a reason my r3d's are processing to .mov so slow? It will probably take upwards to 3 hours to process one 2gb file. I'm using Redrushes. Rendering at half res, resizing 4k's to 2048x1024, Apple Prores HQ. Any help would be appreciated, I can't handle this thing moving so slow.

3 hours to process 1 minute of footage (2 GB) at half res ?
No, that's not at all normal ! Thats sounds very strange.
Processing is slow, but not remotely that slow...

What computer are you using ? Maybe you could try with Redcine and see what results you get in there. It should be around 3 to 10 times slower than real time, depending on the computer and the output quality settings.

Right now I'm on Macbook pro, 4GB RAM. Might be the problem.

And when I use FCP to log and transfer, I get this:

"A124_C127_05155S_001.R3D" contains unsupported media or has an invalid directory structure. Please choose a folder whose directory structure matches supported media."

Also thought I'd add: before working with the Red Raid (which is rented) I did not format. Could that pose a problem?

Slow is directly related to Macbook Pro.

Are you at least using e-sata? If not then you are 100% under the restrictions of your hardware.

Install the FCP L&T Driver from the Red.com website

And when I use FCP to log and transfer, I get this:

"A124_C127_05155S_001.R3D" contains unsupported media or has an invalid directory structure. Please choose a folder whose directory structure matches supported media."

Wow...well I figured out the FCP problem. The directory I was processing was missing the "d" in RCD. Crazy stuff.
