  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Ruby shoots Nike...

Please be more specific? IF your talking aperture it seems just as sharp at T2.8 as T5.6.
Same for zoom, the whole damn lens is a sweet spot.

This is a rehousing of the new Nikon 14-24 2.8 AF-S, right? If it's half as good as the 17-35 it replaces (Ive heard it's even better!) then you're right that it's a killer.

My 17-35 which I have recently destroyed has been one of my favorite lenses over the last decade.

Please do tell us how you destroyed the 17-35. Sounds like there might be a good story attached to that.

Hi Evin,

Could you tell us more about breathing from this sweet Ruby, is there any?

Emmanuel

Wow, that's crazy.

How about for color matching? I guess I'd like to know if it is color matched to the RPP's to a certain extent?

N

The Ruby was recently taken over to Otto Nemenz where it was projected against a 14mm Master Prime. It matched or exceeded it in sharpness even into the corners of the full frame 35mm area!

It's there but better than most still lenses, on par or better than the 17-35mm Century and Nikkor.

I was shooting basketball, sitting right under the basket. The action was at the far end of the court when suddenly a player stole the ball and made a dash for my end of the court. Somebody caught up to him and got in his face, he tripped and came hurtling into me.

Getting run over like that isn't terribly uncommon but unfortunately that day I didn't have my camera strap around my neck and the whole thing went flying across the room. It landed on the lens and the camera was unscathed.

Just glad I lost a $1400 lens and not a $5000 camera!!
