I ask, because i'd want to ask if it is possible to have more output codec options.

thanks

Antoine

It's RED themselves, but you should rather ask Hans-Georg Daun, author of Clipfinder.

Yeah Antoine,

As Uli mentioned, now new Clipfinder covers more than RED Alert! so, it'll be faster to ask Hans cover more codec.

He did, and I replied that in order to support more codecs I would have to create a replacement for REDline (which I currently use for rendering). I could use the SDK for debayering, but I'd have to do scaling, cropping, and encoding myself. It would take quite a bit of time to do this, so I wonder whether it is worth the effort.

Let me know what you think.

Cheers,
Hans

I'd say you, Hans-Georg, should talk to RED about improving REDline (Deanan, maybe?).

Bonjour à vous Hans, Kaku et Uli!

Hans,

Yeah, would be helpfull if we could use a good Quicktime 4:4:4 codec.
DPX is fine, but it's easier to use a Quictime 4:4:4 codec for normal use.
...and REDLINE Animation compression looks terrible.

Thanks!
Antoine

nomad,

I believe it would be difficult or impractical to extend REDline, as a command line tool, to work with all installed codecs and to provide interaction for setting their specific parameters.

Cheers,
Hans

RED why dont you guys just pick Hans up?
His stuff is so useful.
Im sure together you could make such breakthrews.
