Monitor option flexibilty

Hi guys!

Hey, I'm looking at the SmalHD monitor and I'm starting to think about my monitoring options for when Scarlet is released. I could actually use a monitor on My HVX 200 and I'd consider buying early if I was certain I wasn't buying into a dead end that won't work with my Scarlet.

The specs are only showing HD-SDI output. I really like the idea of HDMI also but I don't see that option in the specs on the I/O Module.

Just want to put the idea out there before everything is set in stone. Are there HD-SDI to HDMI converters?

What are you all planning to do about your on-camera monitor?

Scarlet BRAIN has HDMI output, and smallHD works with RED ONE, so it should work with Scarlet also. ( INCLUDE MENU)

I ordered smallHD. I hope I think right.... otherwise I should sell it...

It's good to know there will be an HDMI out on the Scarlet.

I had a Marshall and I wasn't happy with it. It was Standard Def, you couldn't focus with it and,of course, the menu info didn't carry over. Sold it on Ebay and bought a 30" display for my computer, which I am VERY happy with.

Is it bright enough to shoot out of doors? With the hood?

Crisp image? Can you focus with it?

I will inform U how it works outside.
But my ordered nuber is ...208. The DP1s will begin shipping on May 25th. The sooner you order the sooner you are likely to receive it so maybe someone else could test it earlyer.

Splendid! I'm sorely tempted to order tonight but my disappointment with the Marshal keeps me from buying until I hear how well it works for someone else.

Don't feel that way about the Scarlet. I'm completely sold on that camera. I'll be watching this for your post!
