  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Clipfinder 2.2 public beta available now

WOW.
This thing is soon going to replace Redcine completely...
SDK support (means Redrocket support too), edit looks, copy looks, annotations, distributed rendering, FCP conform, and now even Avid support...

I remember the very first version of this app, which already was very useful. But compared to what it is now... There should be a link on the Red.com/support page !

I must say I am gobsmacked at the functionality and features of Clipfinder2.2. Hans you have really made the missing link for me in my RED workflo. I could/can do all that I need with other apps...But not nearly as easily and most importantly as fast as I can with Clipfinder. I can shoot during the day...back up and CC in the late afternoon... Render overnight and hand off files for my client next morning... This kind of shoot now represents my bread and butter and with that in mind I'm off to donate to Hans...As we all should who use Clipfinder daily...

With "lift - stamp" you can view your color corrections also in the main viewer. (except for i.e. Curves, Color/ Gamma Space, that metadata is not yet supported in QT)
 
Thanks for the kind words, everyone, and to Alexander for manning the genius bar while I took a little break.

Taylor, the main window display is based on the proxy files (which provide the most fluid playback) and thus cannot be updated with every slider movement. Press ALT-CMD-A to re-generate the proxies and show settings changes in the main window (with the exception of those mentioned by Alexander).

This is must have software. If you have a Red you need it. Its also well supported. Thanks again for the software and making time t have it available.
 
Clipfinder Rocks !!!

Just something i encountered, if i start rendering after about 2 minutes the activity monitor shows six times "REDline (not responding)" with each about 260 %CPU (2,26 Nehalem 8-Core), the output files are fine, i just got concerned the first time i saw it.

Is FCP XML import able to read in/out points from the FCP timeline ? Didn´t get that to work.

In the same way as in version 2.1: you export XML from your FCP project, select "run conform on FCP XML file" from the Tools menu, select "R3D" for the "replace clips with" checkbox.
Since this hasn't really changed, though, I'm wondering if maybe am I missing something and did not understand your question correctly.

Thanks Hans so much for Clipfinder, it is indeed an awesome program. If I may make a humble request. Quite often I am working on limited desktop space (macbook pro etc) and to resize the histogram means you have to resize the sliders etc as well which ends up covering the Loupe window. Is it possible to have a detachable histogram or attach it to the bottom of the Loupe window (similar to Red Alert)? I know nothing about programming so might be annoying to do but thought I might put it out there.
Otherwise thanks a lot for all you work.
 
Hello hello Mr. Daun,

is there any possibility to get another copy of the Clipfinder software? I lost my mac installer... its the best program to have an overview of folders full of red-clips. I cant do this with redcine.

Appreciate your feedback..
