  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Abel/Formatt Hot Mirror deal

There are plenty of people using them out there. I can't help it if no one chooses to publish a test.
 
We are using the Formatt IR+ND filters and like them very much. Most importantly, we have found no ghosting with these filters, which we cannot say about other NDs that we have used.

Anyway, that's the word from our side of the world.

We bought two sets of these when the deal was first announced. They work perfectly and anecdotally, seem to have the least colour shifting of the various IRND sets. We're very happy with them!

That's what we're talking about. A Hot Mirror is another term for an IR reflector filter.
 
I know that Mitch. I am talking about the Hot Mirror filter versus the combo Hot Mirror + ND filters. All of the comments discuss the IRND sets, not just the Hot Mirror by itself, used with older (i.e., non-IR) ND filters.
 
The sets come with a Hot Mirror only filter so I think people have been using them as you describe.
 
so is this still under 1000 usd ? I still didn't receive a quote for those yet, although I've asked many times. Maybe I have to just call I guess.

Xax, if you are buying in the EU, try buying from Formatt direct (speak to Cerianne) - i bought some Hot Mirrors & NDs from them recently and got a good discount, they are very helpful. Let me know if you need the contact details.

If you are outside the US you need to call or send an email. Unfortunately there is so much rampant fraud in ecommerce sites that we have to be careful. Send me you email contact and I'll be sure to get you a quote.
