  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

REDUSER NAB 2009 - The Official Thread

Hey Steve, must say, very exited on this year event, just by the reading of it, it sounds like is truly going to be a blast this year.

What I wanted to ask was what it will be the food schedule, as I'm trying to get an idea on how to organize my self for the Tirami Su', on when should I bring it, which I would prefer to do so right off the back @ 3:00pm so I don't have to leave and come back later, but I would need a space under a table some were that can be kept safe from the mouths of the HUNGRY REDUSERS :drool5: :) .

We would like to encourage people to bring any EF-mount lenses to the event. I am only bringing two lenses, two RED cameras with EF-mounts, and an Impero... If you want to try 'em, you have to bring 'em...:thumbsup:

Food will be served all day. I would keep the Tirami Su ultra low profile. The hotel will certainly curtail the efforts if they see it. So, maybe bring people over a few at a time.

Maybe one of the vendors will allow you to keep it under their table.

The earlier, the better. Maybe right at 3PM.

Okay the Steve will bring it early and will try to keep low profile :)

This year I decided to make individual portions, easier to serve and easier to get away with it.

BTW: Any idea on the number of attendees??

Too much work for Reduser posting, Twitter would be good though. Too bad there's no way to make Twitter posts automatically become Reduser posts.

I've been contemplating setting up a new Twitter account just for NAB and the Reduser party
 
Oh... streaming a camera though wi-fi? That sounds interesting. So we'll need to pay attention to the schedule so we can tune in for the stuff... where?

Otherwise Twitter sounds good enough like Shawn said.

Was under the misunderstanding of fewer people and more private event, but this is actually Fantastic, congrats again Steve for organizing this yet again.

If I try to bring in more then few Hundred portions of Tirami Su' the Rio Security will have Tirami SU' for the entire year, cause for sure they would not let it pass.

So I think that few attendees will go w/o Tirami Su' this year :(

Ketch, you know who your friends are. They've been with you from the beginning. All you have to do is take care of them. The others will have to earn your respect before they get to experience the infamous Tirami Su. It's like a Reduser initiation. Maybe we should give you your own room, and only the privileged ones get to go in and have some. :)

Seriously man, don't feel like you have to feed thousands of people. Leave that up to me. I'm still trying to figure out how to keep everyone well fed for the day. :beer:

I'm working on the wireless aspect of things. There are charges of course for the wireless access. So, still not sure what we'll end up with yet. But it's an interesting proposition. I know some Redusers around the world would be happy. Bring your stuff and if we can make it happen, cool.
 
Kudos to you Steve for all your hard work. This does sound a bit bigger than last years.

and Ketch, save me just one bite. I've spent a year wondering what I missed out on last April. Just don't get busted.

Ya I've got a slingshot 3G card with 2 free months of access or might be able to plug into my Verizon phone and link up. At any rate, I'll get it up and running for all. Here's the link to where it'll be: http://www.justin.tv/ares5000

Comes with a built in chat room and you can embed the stream anywhere pretty easily

Ketch - You can certainly keep it under our table. How much of it is going to be left for the evening - I am not sure...
