Didnt you read that article that said if Red was 4k than the Genesis & F35 are 5k? :-)

Mark,

I was on the road at the end of last month, and somehow I missed your 3/30 thread and other Variety article link. This new Variety article I linked, dated yesterday, has some more info, and specifically mentions RED cameras.

Moves like this by AMC should bode well for RED One, Epic, and Scarlet owners/users.

All last year when we were working on our National Geographic special in Alaska, we'd project the 4k RED footage when we got back to civilization on the Sony SXRD 4k projector and 24' screen setup at our home base studio. Seeing it in 4k on the big screen really gave us a good indication of the production values of the footage.

Hopefully RED will make the 4k projectors they mentioned last year - ones that are much smaller and much less expensive than the Sony SXRD projectors.

it's only a matter of time, Steve.

it's pretty clear that technology is moving right where JJ and many others thought it would.

4K monitors might also be closer than many of us hoped for. not only will 4K cameras drive this, but also gaming.

.yup.
