Is there any way we can import r3d sequence from Premiere Pro into After Effects at working resolution of 1K or 512. When I am doing this all my clips go back to original 2K or 4K resolution.

If I go back in Premiere Pro, all the r3d are still at the same working resoultion. Somehow, the global settings which I applied in Premiere Pro do not get carried into After Effects.

Any Thoughts...

Raul, I am new to After Effects. So, forgive my ignorance.
I'm can not find any control for changing 2K and 4K into working resolution.

Hey Joon, I just tried it and works like a charm.
when in AE- go to your project window and right click on the .R3D file you wish to set a proxy for. Click "set proxy" and then navigate the proxy for that .R3D and click it.
I used the 512X288 and went in place just fine.
AE will put a box with a square in it next to your original .R3D file in your project window. If you click that it, it enables or disables the proxy.

Hope this helps!

Do you really see much of a speed gain when compared to using the R3D with reduced viewing resolution? From my understanding AE is using partial decode of the original R3D in this case anyway, just like the QuickTime "proxies" do (actually, they are more like references for decoding).

Thanks Raul. :happyhappy:

hummm...

Hey Kwan, I see you "hummm" -ing all the time. But, what kind of hums are they? Like humming a song, or humming like in question, or pensiveness - like a zen "ohmm" maybe, or "hummm" like a yawn?

Very curious about it 8)
Just wondering...
