I thought there was an understanding that Reduser was not a channel for eBay sales?

If you do not like my posts you may ignore them. In case if I'm violating rules of this forum, moderator/administratir has all possibilites to correct this, would you agree?

What is the difference between this kind of post and the constant flacking from Able or the small manufacturers or everybody who is selling used Zeiss lenses? If somebody has items that are directly useful to the Red camera, they should be welcome here. What has ebay got to do with it?

The point here is NO SPAMMER.

If there is an exclusive deal for REDUSERS then post it here.

If a set of lens is broken up and list separately here it is SPAM.

NO SPAM, No Exceptions.

I appreciate most of these sale notices

I appreciate most of these sale notices

I do not understand why some folks consider this sort of notice spam if it is coming from a red user who is indicating something of value to a red camera owner looking for accessories:

1 If you consider this spam you have the option of not subscribing to this RED user category or just not reading the updates about this post.. What is the problem?

2 Why is this post any different from any other person with a lens for sale? Or anything else for sale if it also listed somewhere else?

3 If breaking up a lens set is considered spam why would it be any less so if the guy submitted 5 or more separate posts with each lens listed separately?

4 I personally appreciate it when someone either:
A) Announces they have something of obvious value to a RED camera owner that will be or is listed on ebay so that I don't have to keep filtering out searches on EBAY or:
B) Provides notice about something for sale on EBay that allows you to contact the owner via REDUSER without going through the whole EBAY process.

5 Obviously this would be a problem if REDUser just became a large classified listing of folks trying only to use it to SELL things but that does not appear to be the case here... As the poster said: isn't that what moderators are for?

Just my 2 cents...

I think the reasoning was that a seller should offer something here on Reduser first. If s/he then does not get an (acceptable) offer, it is o.k. to link to an eBay auction.

This would be a win-win situation. The Seller saves the eBay fees. The buyer gets a chance to buy the complete set. And Reduser has an exclusive offer.

Otherwise the question is on where to draw the line. At any point there are dozens of lights, tripods, PL-mount lenses on eBay. One could even argue that with Birger one could advertise Canon mount lenses here. Reduser would drown under the noise if all these sellers decided to offer their goods here.

My 2 cents.. I like to see postings of items available for the Red cam,
Red users have the ability to chime in on the character and value of these items so it can be a great opportunity......as always in life.....................:head_explode: buyer beware!!

I've been dieing to use the pyro!!!

Everyone who produces professional products or sells them (Able etc.) has their own websites and offers their items in other venues. This guy is selling professional cine lenses, items directly related to the needs of Red users. Let it be.

You are correct. Although it's loosely enforced. Many members post ebay links to their items after they don't sell here on reduser or other sites at first. But outright spamming by posting sales threads and nothing else is a violation of the terms and conditions of this site.

If you do not like my posts you may ignore them. In case if I'm violating rules of this forum, moderator/administratir has all possibilites to correct this, would you agree?

Serhij, moderators don't always make it into these threads before other regular members do. And Martin and others are correct, your post does violate our advertising and conduct policy here. Sorry, but I have to shut you down. If you wish to continue advertising or selling equipment here you need to either participate as a regular forum member or become a forum sponsor. I searched all your posts and every single one of them has to do with your sales. That is spam.

What is the difference between this kind of post and the constant flacking from Able or the small manufacturers or everybody who is selling used Zeiss lenses? If somebody has items that are directly useful to the Red camera, they should be welcome here. What has ebay got to do with it?

AbelCine and other manufacturers and dealers who post here are forum sponsors. Members who post to the forums and contribute in other ways are welcome to post their private for-sale listings. It is requested that no posts are made just to promote or direct people to ebay links. Some members of the reduser community have become equipment manufacturers and dealers due to their own evolution with the RED One. These members are allowed to promote their product, but as soon as they open up and start accepting money, even for pre-orders or deposits, they are required to conform to the advertising policies of these forums.

Us moderators do our best to track all this and steer sellers in the right direction. Sometimes a few slip through the cracks.

It is requested that no posts are made just to promote ebay links or direct people to ebay links. As noted above this does happen occasionally when items don't sell after a certain amount of time, members will then move the item to ebay and make note of it here.

Some members of the reduser community have become equipment manufacturers and dealers due to their own evolution with the RED One. These members are allowed to promote their product, but as soon as they open up and start accepting money, even for pre-orders or deposits, they are required to conform to the advertising policies of these forums.

These policies are not always immediately clear to everyone. And there are a lot of freeloader advertisers around here that need to be dealt with.

Serhij,

I am locking this thread down. Please be aware that your only posts to these forums are for the purpose of selling equipment. If you wish to continue this, please contact Jason Ramsey for information about the advertising policy.
