is there a website to purchase the allstar sliding baseplate. I have to set up the camera with the original 19mm RED baseplate and need to find a way to make up for the non standard red bottem. I have a red cheeseplate but that is only to secure RED shoulder pad right? i cant really figure out what to do with it other than sit on bills.
so is the allstar the way to go and are there any other options if they cant get one out for me.

Good bloke. Quick to respond to emails and solid gear. I have his old-style dovetail and can't part with it just yet for the free upgrade, it's that good. Think he also takes PayPal, which gives you some peace of mind.

Red cheeseplate is not needed to secure the Red shoulder pad to the Red bottom plate. Shoulder pad simply slides into the bottom plate and locks in place via a lever. Red cheeseplate provides a more solid method of attaching the camera to a tripod, as opposed to attaching your tripod release plate to the bottom of RED shoulder pad, which some people advise against.

Also keep in mind the Allstar dovetail lets you quickly adjust the balance point of your camera when it's on a tripod and changing lenses and accessories. For me this alone is worth the price of admission. Cheers.

I actually used the new Allstar dove tail yesterday for the first time. It is WAY more solid than the RED shoulder dove tail. I did, however, have some slipping issues when the camera was pointing 90 degrees straight up or straight down. It didn't seem to have quite enough tension to get a really secure grip on the RED bottom plate.
Other than that, it seems like a great value if you can't afford the Element Technica route.

We already have a 15mm ET base and a19mm ET base
but I still wanted to use the origanal
19mm base from red when we need to use
two 19mm systems. I tried to buy another
ET 19mm but discontinued. Is hybrid available
The ET website acted funny there was no product
weight but it was in stock?
Any workarounds would be appreciated
Also is there a Templar so I can redrill
/tap an arri19mm plate I own

well i didnt hear back so i got the 19mm hybrid. Im glad that the responses have been good as we are looking at their handheld long plate with shoulder pad, i have all of reds handles, holders and universal brackets!!!$$$$ouch
thanks everyone for your valuable input

Note you can fairly easily modify the RED shoulder plate to fit the ET baseplates - it involves milling or sanding off the two slightly raised ridges on the top of the shoulder plate so the top is all flat. I've found the RED shoulder plate is rigid enough for everything I've used it for so far - including on a Steadicam mounted on a moving 4x4!

we did that thanks Eric. Problem is you cant put the original RED 19mm sled(bottem
plate) onto a standard dovetail plate it hits thus the allstar solution

Hi Julio
You can get free amendment by me for any issue, just email to me: allstar.cine@gmail.com
RED bottom plate isn`t my product, and it was "soft", vrey hard to control common difference.
However Allstar dovetail won`t fall your RED, because it has 2 safety hooks.
Please feel free to ask me any question.

I suspected that was the case since your dovetail seemed to be precisely engineered and the RED base plate is obviously not. I only rented the dove tail for the day, but I was impressed with it. You should design a base plate that goes specifically with your dove tail. If you could make it cheaper than Element Technica's $900 base plate, I would buy the combo.
