I'm trying one more time ....

wouldn't life be soooooooo great if we could just "auto-sync" BWF right inside RedRushes?

choose which tracks to include -

choose folder of BWF files -

RR scans the files looking for TC - takes only the audio from IN and OUT point of clip - leaves clips MOS if there is no matching BWF -

how much hot sauce do I need to send to make this happen ...?

That would certainly be an interesting workflow - it would also need to include all metadata into resulting metadata files like ALE from the BWF chunk or the iXML sidecar file to complete the story. Right now, I am hoping the next version of REDrushes includes the audio track indication into into the ALE when recognized within the R3D file.

Dudes,
A few threads ago i mentioned something that can do this:

http://www.videotoolshed.com/?page=products&pID=26

This is originally made to work with LTC on an audio track, but...

Next to this is a helper application that can do exactly this.
(well, i've not implemented the track selection (yet))

Also, turning off QT audio tracks is something that has to be done in the main app., but it'll be a breeze to implement that in the helper app.

Not sure what to do with the metadata though, can someone enlighten me how that should travel?

In the case for Avid, the additional audio metadata would be added to an updated ALE file with the BWF timecode in the SoundTC, file name in the SoundRoll, etc. The number of tracks would be updated to the Tracks column with V+ number of tracks in WF file.
