Although that is true, make sure you check with RED that all of the accessories and components you require are currently in stock and will ship when your camera body ships. I only say this because I've read other posts over the past few months where someone was able to get the camera body from Red fairly quickly but are still waiting on critical components in order to be able to use it. Buying used makes sense if you need a fully-configured package (that includes backordered items) quickly or if you want an earlier serial number for EPIC, Scarlet or sensor upgrade opportunities down the road.

Michael is correct, while I did purchase a RED last week, a lot of key items, are backordered.
