Hi,

Since we are now using our Birger mount we are selling off all of our other lenses. This is one lens I never thought I would sell, but I just can't justify keeping it if we're not using it.

This is a very rare 50-150mm T2.2 (F2.0) russian zoom in PL mount. You can remove the regular back and use the anamorphic back (included) to make it a 100-300mm T3.5 anamorphic zoom. Compared to many older russian zooms, this lens is quite sharp and has really nice contrast. To see an example shot with this lens look at:
http://www.favoritecolor.tv/work/ani08001/index.html
This spot was shot at 2K (high frame rates and high shutter). At 4K it is even more beautiful.

The serial number starts with 90, meaning it was made in 1990. When we bought it from Russia it was described as new and unused and it was and still is in great condition. It also includes some sort of viewfinder de-squeezer that came as part of the kit (not pictured), but obviously has no real use for Red cameras.

The only thing to be aware of is that while this is a wide aperature lens it only closes down to T4 in spherical or T5.6 when using it as anamorphic. This was never an issue for us since we preferred to shoot wide aperature and would just use ND when necessary, but don't expect to shoot midday without some ND.

Looking for $5.5K.

Best,
Walter

It is marked CKBK which I have always understood to be the same as EKRAN. Someone said they were the research park of EKRAN, although anyone with more info is welcome to chime in.

Nick was actually by our office one time and took a look at it when we were buying a 18mm, so he may remember it. You are welcome to come take a look.

Out of curiosity, would that adapter feasibly make any PL mounted lens anamorphic?

I don't think so. You actually remove the regular PL and put on the Anamorphic. The connection is really nice and solid like a little PL-style mount in and of itself so it is very quick to change, but it is specific to this lens and possibly to some other Russian zooms.

Just to answer some other questions I have received in case others have the same questions...

Both the regular (spherical) back and the anamorphic are PL mount.

The aperture is 8 blades with rounded edges, so as it closes down it remains almost completely round.

No fungus and it is very clean.

I've used a friends copy of that lens and it's really good. Minimum stop was t4 on his.
Did not try anamorphic mode.

Tempting.
