These people have finally completely lost their minds.

"Finally lost their minds"? Come on Tom, you know people in CA have been brainless for quite some time now. Hence the reason why I go out to AZ as much as I can. Because at least out there people don't have sand in their vaginas all the time.

Speaking of AZ. I was out there a couple weeks ago on some state land camping and shooting timelapse. It was awesome to be able to walk around with a 9mm on my hip - tombstone lives! I spent a lot of my spare time in the days out of the local town range in Ajo, showing those border patrol guys how to shoot golf balls at 50 ft with a pistol. :)

That's why I love AZ. Walking around with a pistol on your hip is one of those freedoms I love. But having your CCW is a little better only because then you don't get all the weird looks. But some of the questions you get from people when they see a gun on your hip is pretty funny. My favorite, "Is that a real gun?" But if you ever make it a little North to the Phoenix area you should hit me up man.

global warming is a scam.. thus im keeping my black cars and a loaded gun everywhere i go

I have a dark blue car, which is kind of close to black. But all of my guns and rifles are black. So maybe that helps the destruction of the Earth...in more ways than one.

you should check out Ajo. They won't give you a second look. When I asked the local border patrol and sheriffs if I could carry in the open, their response was, "Lock and load." :)

Well now I don't have to even think about people asking me stupid questions like that out there because they don't even know I'm armed. But I have to say that it is interesting to see how people treat you when your wearing a gun in the open.

What 9mm do you carry Tom? I have a Glock 19 that's my go to and when I'm out in AZ it can be nice and quiet. I don't want to wake the neighbors if something is going down.

I'll have to check out Ajo one of these days. But my favorite place to go in AZ is Payson.

drew, you know my folks used to have a place out in payson. i know the place well! you would love ajo. it's much more of a free-for-all.

i have a ruger 9mm. it's pretty accurate. it's funny, though, there were some WWII-era oldtimers out at the Ajo public range when i was out there. they had some antique six-shooters, really long-barrel pistols like you would see in an old western movie. these guys were crack shots! they were outshooting some of the border patrol guys who were using rifles!

btw, i captured some WILD military stuff going on in the air above the Goldwater range west of Ajo in some of my timelapses. the footage is nuts.

I remember that we have talked about Payson before. I'm hoping that I can buy a place out there soon when I dump my property in CA. I love the property that I have but I hate CA. I'm going out to AZ this weekend, maybe I'll try and swing through Ajo or maybe some other time because its way South for me.

I think I shot a Ruger 9mm once and I wasn't really into it. I do have a Ruger 10/22 and that is a fun little .22 rifle. Those long barreled six shooters can be deadly accurate of course it depends on who is shooting the gun. I've out shot my brother with my Glock and he had a .223 rifle. We were shooting at sodas 50 yards away.

WTF! This better be leading up to one of the best April fools jokes of all time...too bad these articles weren't being posted by The Onion.

i know this is off Topic but why the f**k are you talking about cars and guns on red user.

Wonder how much emissions will be produced by the ensuing rise in car wash cycles once folks switch to light-colored vehicles.

:cute:

I think you'll find dirt actually shows up more on black cars more than white, slightly counter logical, but true..

Don't know about the guns?? But I started this topic for a few reasons.
Most car spots are shot in California. If they ban certain colors of cars does that mean for example that if a production company wanted a spot using a black car then they could not shoot that spot in California? Just kinda saying all these crazy regulations will have impacts - impacts that will ripple down and effect things no one ever thought of. #2 - if you sit-back and let the politicians and law makers roll over you then you would no one to blame but yourself.

Because its "Off Topic" and Zakaree said something about guns. So Tom and I chimed in with our experiences with guns out in AZ and how its like the old west out there. You don't need to get so upset man...just take a breath and calm down.

Well keep in mind that this legislation would not only ban black cars, but many "dark-colored" cars. Metallic gray, maybe? I mean, to me, this is so insane that it reads like an Onion article. Are you going to have to break out a California-state-approved "color card" and match it to your paint to see if you are in violation?? hahahaha.

Again, these people never actually think through the consequences of any their actions. And then when the unintended consequences or "blowback" from their laws suddenly appear, then they pass MORE insane laws to correct the problems they themselves created in the first place.

It's like the AIG bailout thing in Washington. They caused the whole problem in the first place, then made it worse by bailing AIG out, then they have to pass more laws to kill the bonuses that their legislation actually authorized! We are paying these people to chase their own tails, while meanwhile they are bankrupting all of us.

I have always been so proud of my home state of California. It sucks to see these monkeys bankrupting and humiliating us.

How about if they just do NOTHING. We would all be a lot better off.

I think economists on both sides of the political spectrum would say that that course of action would not in fact result in us being better off.

And while I trust economists about as far as I can punt them on minutia. In general they tend to be pretty good on average on big picture predictions. Their margin of error tends to be less than 25%.

I for one want to live in a nation that still has banks.

We've already promised to bail out the banks. It's called FDIC. If FDIC has to swoop in and bail out all of the banks which fail because of AIG then the cost to the tax payers is higher.

Also that california proposed legislation is silly. I say give some standford researcher $10k and do a quick study to see just how much gas it would actually save. Or better yet. Just put tighter fuel mileage standards on cars and let the engineers find the best way to save Gas not some politicians.

I applaud them for thinking out of the box for less intrusive means of saving energy. I wag my finger for looking into something which in my experience has very little effect on the amount of AC used.

You want to save AC bills? Force everybody to use those stupid reflective sun shades. Now THOSE THINGS actually work.

Also I prefer shooting rugers to glocks. I have a friend with a Ruger MkII or III not sure which. Tons of fun. Great target shooting gun.
