  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Can Color resize image like Redcine?

I love the apple workflow using L&T with Color to access and grade the r3d files. However, can color also resize or crop the 4k image the way Redcine does? I tried it in the Geometry room but couldn't get a good result. Am I doing something stupid or what? I'm doing an HD output.

Also, if Color can't access the 4k image for resize, and I need to use Redcine: would it be best to stick with a Redcine/Crimson type workflow or can I mix that workflow with the newer Apple Color workflow?

Currently Color is using only half res, but you could use Clipfinder and continue in FCP and Color.
 
Color will send geometry changes back to Final Cut as new Motion tab settings. Color will however, bake in geometry setting when outputting DPX files.
 
The problem is you are starting with 2k so and cropping/zooming you do will be above 100%. This is the problem I have with it.
