Okay, guys, my RED just came back from RED for it's audio upgrade, and when we went to use the camera with the Origo, every time we press the Origo the camera jumps into timelapse burst mode. Since we have never, ever used either timelapse or burst or anything else like that (we are pretty boring), this puzzles us.

I am certain that this has sometime to do with a setting, but even when we have turned off the timelapse in the menu, pushing the Origo to start recording always puts us back into timelapse again. The regular back and side record buttons continue to function normally.

What can I do to get my Origo back????

We haven't had our upgrade and this just happened to us, too.

It must be a setting somewhere!

Can you check your settings for in or out put of the RED port where you connect the Origo?
I can't check it fot you because my RED is for upgrade to london at the moment!

I don't have my RED here at the moment either. But check not only in the GPIO settings menu, but the Timelapse menu. In the Timelapse menu, make sure Timelapse is unchecked.

GPI trigger defaults

GPI trigger defaults

Can you check which of the two Aux 12V ports that you are plugged into?

The upper one contains GPI A and this defaults to Rec Start / Stop

The Lower one contains GPI B and this defaults to Timelapse Record. i.e a single frame or a burst of frames record mode

The GPI A and B settings can be re-programmed using the System / Setup / Preferences / GPIO

I think that Stuart just answered the question. Wrong auxilliary input, I'll bet. Silly me. . .

I knew it was something silly/stupid on my part, but I didn't consider that it would make a difference which aux port I actually used.

I'll check this out and report back right away.

Thanks again, guys. . .

Stephen

And Stuart was, as always, exactly correct. It DOES matter which aux port one is plugging that puppy into. Amazing.

Perhaps reading the manual isn't sufficient. Maybe I should just try to memorize it!

Don't Feel bad Stephen.. I do it all the time :)

Thanks, Jarred. . .

I'm sure I'll still do it. . . the bottom one is easier to see, after all, when it is low to the ground. . . but at least this time I'll know what to do when I get that nasty "timelapse" message. What it really means is "brainlapse."

:-)

Hello,

Just asking here so not to start another thread.
Can I use the Origo as a GPI trigger for ramping ?

thanks,
Mike
