Folks: Thanks in advance for checking this post.

I am finishing a feature which was shot with S2 Digital system. We re-shot on RED, and I just received the DVCPRO HD files, but I am unable to view them both in QT and/or FCP (5.1.4). My old files, which I can view, are DVCPRO HD 1080i60. The new footage is DVCPRO HD 1080p30. Could this be a simple missing codec? Could the conversion be wrong? I am new to this and really have no idea where to start. Any help is MUCH appreciated.

I think Panasonic calls 30p in the codec but it's actually 29.97p.
I remember there was an update for DVCPRO HD codec between FCP5 and 6, to cover mode codecs from P2. I'd guess that is the issue.
You probably have to update your FCP.

Final cut has these codecs from the start. Can you play the clips in quicktime? Did you shoot on Red and have them transcoded to DVC Pro HD?

I'm stressing the point that there was "update" for DVCPRO HD codec when FCP got upgraded from 5.1.2 to 5.1.4 I think. For some system, I remember that had to be manually updated.
