  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Hello RedUsers,

A friend of mine forwarded a new music video for the sydney based Electro band "The Presets" that was shot on 2 Red One cameras.

Oh yeah I shot that.

Here is the actual directors cut in HD. The label posted the 2nd rough cut before it had even been color corrected(link above). Hence the "purple sun" still being there. This is much better IMHO but it doesn't have 140,000 hits :(

Unfortunately that is not an option after it has received that traffic. A very strange move by the label that I have never seen before. Very disappointing.
 
I don't think you can. They promised they would do that when they hijacked the clip. They said the rough cut version we were giving them was for Aussie TV only. Then it ended up on youtube and has not been replaced so far. Very frustrating. Especially after you spend all that money and time doing things right. The production company(Daft Arts), director, and I were stunned. But oh well. It has received good reviews and been featured on Shots and Boards online magazines as pick of the day.

Would there be anyway to see a 1080p, 2k, or even 4K version of the video???

The presets are my favorite band of all time, really great stuff they are doing with there music and the videos =]

All the post was done in France. There was no need to master it higher than 2k. Too bad the HD version was pulled because I probably shouldn't post anything. Lemme see if I have time and permission to do so.

The concept was to capture the journey of the evolving sun over the course of the day. So naturally we did use the sun supplemented by Joker units, bounce, reflectors and then for the fire scene we use the natural flame with 3 2k chimeras on a magic gadget. The home interiors were Kinos and Jokers. Simple stuff on this one but the amount of location moves required it.

Love the concept. Don't really care about the gear to be honest hahaha that's just means for the purpose, but I do think the photography is truly beautiful without trying and a great complement to the concept... and that's how it should be.
 
Are there any making of material (videos, photos) that are online?

What did Jules & Kim think of the final product?
