AC Adapter & Origo...

This is by no means a major problem, but it is interesting; when using the Red AC Adapter, the Origo does not see this as a full charge and just rapidly blinks red, as if the battery were reaching insufficient level.

I guess the Red AC Adapter put out just enough push.

I use the AC Adapter only when setting up; I'm fearful of a kick-out when actually rolling, so it's not a major problem, but is a bother.

Yeah,mine dose the same thing. I spoke with Curt about it, he set up the range to work with batteries. The Red AC adapter says it puts out 12 volts. Even though the Red camera works at 12 volts (11.5-17 per opps manuel) Batteries are usually giving up when they are down near 12volts.

I have found the Origo blinks red with most external batteries. I have verified this behavior with Arri 14V blocks and Dolly Packs and 3 different (low serial number) Origos. It's unfortunate because monitoring external batteries was one of the great features the Origo was designed to have.

Is the battery threshold adjustable?

The Origo was calibrated for use with RED batteries as stated in the documents shipped with it. It replicates the battery meter in the RED display. It can be changed but we have yet to make the new firmware available. Please see the attached PDF and read the *

If the Origo is in use with IDX, Swit or AB LiIon Batteries, the indication is very accurate, if i´m on the AC power supply, i don´t care about the origo, at all. AC Power was always sufficent to run the camera without breakdowns.

Noted the same thing recently. Of course not serious, but disturbing. We were putting some tape on the LED.
