Red 18-85 vs. Optimo 30-80 who's the first?

I would like to see this comparison, I have an 18-85 in the San Jose, CA- If you have an Optimo 30-80 near by, I volunteer.

Id be very interested in seeing a test from these two. Im sure they are both very sharp but Id think the out of focus area (Bokeh) would look completely different. Do you see a difference ?

i guess its red 18-85 vs optimo rouge because of the pricepoint both lenses have.

the optimo 17-80 is one of my favorite lenses, but how much does it cost to buy?....40 k...50k

Sanjin's right.
Pricepoint is only an issue if you're thinking about buying a lens, or have both available for hire and rental cost is an issue. the Red and the 17-80 are of similar and very practical focal length ranges. The 17-80 is the most amazing and handiest zoom in the world IMHO.

If the price-point is only an issue there are other options available like a Canon still glass

for example CANON EF-S 17-85MM F/4-5.6 IS USM extraordinary light (weight 475 g or 16.7 oz) and in the most cases useful

but then you would need Birger, Alesniak EF mount or better option like a *** for RED1

Also you would have to deal with a very bad sun flare issue.

But it's always like you get what you paid for.
