  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Pure Detroit

Ivan, cool shots man and I love the way the snow looks on the Red...

But holy crap, I don't know if the depressing parts of Detroit are what I would call "Pure" Detroit. I mean come on, there's a lot of good stuff happening in the city too! :-)

Incidentally, we used the same street you have at 1:45 for the Nelly Furtado video we did, gotta love that robins-egg blue building!

Thanks for the comments guys!

I was going to make a spoof of "Pure Michigan" :) because they make it look so pleasant and welcoming. I grew up in Detroit and know what it really looks like. I liked the silence that day, it looked very depressing.

I will get you the name of the song tomorrow when I get to work.

This is really beautiful footage. I thought it worked so well with the music. Didn't mind the walk sign not changing. It was like the whole city was frozen in time with the snow just pouring down. Really nice. Loved the lonely figures walking in the background of some of the shots. The flashing light keeping time with the music in the last shot was a nice touch also. Was that intentional or just a happy accident? Also you have to let us know what this music is. Very haunting. Once again great work.

Finally, someone recognized the flashing light in sync! It happens both beginning and end. I wouldn't say accidental. I was browsing music and found that the light was flashing in sync, so I thought it was cool

The torch scene in the beginning of that video looks sweet!

I've got one to but we were immediately shut down. Long story....

So beautyful... Thank you, Ivan G.
I would like to see it in better quality very much, maybe you can share it for download?

Thanks Nikolai

This footage is from a documentary we're currently shooting. I decided to put together a quick edit because folks have requested snow footage. I also have other partners that are involved and I'm sure they wouldn't agree.
