  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Clipfinder 2.0: Free Workflow Tool for OS X / FCP

Great software. Is there a chance we could get a user manual in PDF format?

Any interest in importing the Avid XML Scan list directly for selects re-transcode? See www.avid.com/filmscribe for the XSD files.

Michael,

Yes, I'd be interested. I have had a few requests from people working with Avid systems.
However, I'd probably need an Avid license to do any kind of serious testing and I don't have one currently and my income from Clipfinder is unlikely to pay for one within the next couple of years.
So I guess I'll have to ask back: any interest in supporting Clipfinder development ? :-)

Cheers,
Hans

I love this program. It is so good. The only thing missing and I don't think it is very important anyway, is an option like the Right click "Reveal in finder". So I could easily access the quicktime if I needed to. But I love it anyway.

It crashes often in my Intel-leopard though. Usually if I toggle the high quality option. But it is a great application overall. Congratulations Hans and thank you so much.

Hi Hans -

There is no need for a license to support the XML metadata. I see a basic workflow to take the pull list from an offline edit and managing the selects as a pull to a QT wrapped DNxHD which you support already (and automatically generate an ALE) or output to DPX, etc.

If you could integrate that exact feature into your already wonderful program the stars will shine on you forever. Regardless of whatever that means we are all in your debt.

Muffiny,

I thought I had fixed that kind of crash in version 2.1.14.
Do you still experience crashes with that version ?
If so, is it possible to give a step-by-step description of how to reproduce the problem ?

Cheers,
Hans

You might be right. I have to see if that happends with the latest. For me it only crashed when switching the HD buttom. Next week I'll work with it and report if it crashes. Thanks again for your great application.

suggestion for 2.??

suggestion for 2.??

Thank you again for such a great project !!! I have a few suggestions that I think would be natural inclusions for future development. Greater integration with avid as suggested in previous posts is one but beyond that these two would be perfect.

1. Ability to apply custom overlays for playback ie. 1:2.35 1:1.85 4:3 etc.
2. Ability to toggle playback to full screen (without borders and menus)

Great work, it is very much appreciated.

The crashin is so much better, meaning, almost no crashing. I still got few crashes when switching things quickly, maybe changing the HQ mode qhile playingf. I can't remember exactly though.

Also another thought; one thing that I find it might be interesting to have (it might be just me though) but I'd like to be able to lock the screen size to the right proxie quality. I say this because lets say you are on H, and have a pretty good quality but less performance, then you toggle to P, and you have this big screen with very low quality if you want to see it better, then I re size the frame, but I'll never be able to get it perfectly to the P size and be the best quality playing for that resolution.

I don't know if I made myself clear. It'd be just nice to be able to quickly be able to resize to the Proxie native size.

But anyway, I love this application so much.
