  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

i love this lens...

although JN.. no joke.. my ZF's can produce a comparable image..
I wish I shot both scenes side by side with ZF and Optimo.. but i didnt want to take off the PL and Put on the Nikon:( (wish that IMS mount was cool with red)

next time I have an Optimo around my house Ill do that test:)

Haha, thanks.

Thats an awesome shot Zak :-) The Optimo is a beautiful lens as are the Zeiss ZF lenses, I like them both.

I had the lens for a night.. so a few of my good friends including an awesome director/editor decided to shoot a little short..
its actually the word for word transcript of the shady chicago gov and rahm emanual's phone conversation.
so if its any good, we might post it:)

I added this in another post.. but just in case someone looks at this one.. here is a comparison..

zeiss ZF (close up shot)
optimo 17-80 (medium-wide shot)

*both shot wide open.. f1.4 on the zf , t2.2 on the optimo

ZF is sharp. But the Optimo has a nice smooth, creamy quality.

M

that look could just be zeiss ZF

zeiss ZF unique look

Man, that Optimo is delicious...

but the ZF for the money is sick.

which ZF? 1.4 Planar? or T2 Distagon?

the more time goes by the less complicated seems to detect a zeiss ZF lens on our own

edit
but you had presented the cat

looks soft due to jpg compression.. but its not

exactly..
optimo is def creamy..
i would like to get my hands on some PM filters and throw them in front of the zf's

Try the Schneider Classic softs, I have a set and it's THE filter set for softening on the Red. I Like the 1/4 and 1/2 for general use and the 1 on leading ladies:love:
