Probably a basic question but I wanted to try out some workflows so I installed redcine and downloaded some R3D files to play with. However the clip looks like it's loaded, the stats of the clip are there FPS etc etc and it appears to play but the viewer is black.

What did I miss!

Thanks

Just touch one value in the Color Section.

Still no luck I'm afraid.. All looks very straightforward except it doesn't work!

I'm with you, Nigel. I am on a PC running REDcine and when I load a shot, I have a black box in front of the image. I can go to the top of the screen and the drop-down menu appears and I click on "Color" and now I can see the image. Next problem is when I render out a QT in Avid DNxHD I get a black box, even after I import it to Media Composer 3.0.2. Any ideas?

I have run a test with the same workflow on a mac and it imported to Avid just fine. I would like to keep the work on one box and not transfer rooms.

Thx

If you turn off Color in the top toolbar and the picture appears, that means you either have a graphics card that won't work with REDCINE, or you have old drivers.
