I just discovered Steven-Marc posted this a while ago, but I wanted to share it again anyway, as I find this to be the most underated accessory ever for the R1. For those like me who pulled their hair from the inconvenient task of screwing and unscrewing the LCD and the Red Arm, etc... AND nearly dropping it off many times (every time) as it ultimately comes off the screw... These tiny quick release clips are amazing. I've had a couple of those for a few months now and they just changed my life. One male at each end of the red arm, and their female match on the lcd and the camera (on the handle top for me) and it takes 2 seconds to mount/unmount the lcd and arm on the camera. Saves a LOT of time on a shoot and most of all the risk of dropping the LCD and break it! I'll try and post some pics soon...

The grey female part needs a screw adapter to replace the actual screw you see on the picture to fit the diameter on the arms end screws (a cheap flat washer type female screw sold by Manfrotto I think)... And the burgundy part goes on the camera and a second one on the LCD. That leaves the 2 grey parts on the arm tips.

Gosh, it's hard to explain... But really, get 2 of those and you'll figure it out! Then take them to a photo shop to get the washer screw things (cheapies) and rock and roll...

It's got a blocking lever you need to push aside to release the parts (you can see it on the far side of the picture). You can't accidentally release it. It's a micro version of a tripod quick release mechanism...

Great accessory! Very useful, small and weightless. Have 2 of them for 2 Reds. You need a 3/8 - 1/4 adapter (very cheap). I bought them straight from 16x9 and paid $95 each last october ... B&H offers it for $60!

I'm going to B and H today...
Thanks for posting

The a 3/8 - 1/4 adapter is to fit the Red Arm ends 1/4 screws in the grey parts of the clips...

My setup is 2 clips: one burgundy parts on the camera (anywhere you please, mine is atop the handle, in the handle top hole) and one behind the monitor. These will simply screw with the provided 1/4 screws.

The male grey parts are fitted with a 3/8 threaded hole: the Red Arm end screws are 1/4, so you need to screw a reducer adapter that will screw in the grey parts (3/8) and will allow tou to screw the arms 1/4 back in it...

I was a bit puzzled at first, but after a run to a photo shop with the arm and clips, I found the adapters and it's perfect.

I suggest you take your Red Arm with you. The burgundy parts are no problem to fit on the Red stuff...

How do these compare to zacuto zicro mounts?

Since this thread popped up again, I have to say:

I love my Cine lock! It is plenty rigid. I even use it with my heavy Panasonic BT LH900 8" monitor. It will fly the Red LCDs no problemo!

Great product!

Prost,
Rich
