  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Yeah I know, MAKE UP YOUR MIND!! :)

In truth I would love to go to Canada for the few months before Summer comes and I go back to Italy, BUT...

I truly believe that this might very well be the very last chance I have to make my dream come true and I must make of this last few months the absolute most,
to get the word out on "CHRONICLES of PERSEVERANCE" and stay out side the door of those I need to talk to, if I have too, literally camp out!! :)


I know LA will not be good for my health, but I must think of making this last sacrifice for the good of my DREAM!!

I'm determined to start Production on "CHRONICLES of PERSEVERANCE" and shoot all the US scenes before I go back to Italy were I will then finish the shooting of the film.

Since I just can't do it by myself I think that at last the best choice I can make now is to go back to LA for awhile and :construction: really hard to get in off help and exposure for the project rising awareness and interest in off to rise funds as to finally make it a reality.


Thank you for listening, just need to vent out a bit :) and always value your opinions, after all, you guys really are my family!!

Hey Nick,

I want to make Movies, well at list my Movie CHRONICLES of PERSEVERANCE :)

What stand s in the way of me making this dream come true?

Money!!

But I believe strongly with all my heart that if I can get an audience with any one that matters in decision making from any studio, then I'll have the money needed for the Project.

I also believe that if I could have fifteen minutes of any of them or any of known actors and actresses that I see a role in for them, then I know that this movie will find an audience, money and anything it needs to be made.


What stands in my way? Not knowing, or better not having found a way yet to bring my story directly to a studio or a celebrity, such as Mel Gibson, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Penelope Cruz and Monica Bellucci to name a few of those that I see in this movie.

Good start. I see some of your work and its very interesting.

You have a script or an idea/concept? Is it written down?

You have to ask people who have the power to help you. Have you contacted any producers big or small and pitched this to them?

Start by putting together as much of the logistics as you can on your own and with your key people. Make your project presentable so people can understand what your vision is etc.

Make your list & start calling & making meeting 1st with Production Companies. Let them do the dirty work so you can focus on your story & charming the ladies.

Get someone to represent you & your project. Try to do it the way its done other wise people will think you are insane & not take you seriously.

Ketch hook up with a producer! Don`t waste time looking for a short cut. Hook up with someone who knows the ropes and who is willing to take you on.

You are barking up the wrong tree IMO...To find money you need someone to find it for you, that person is called a Producer. That should be your mission with that in place the rest will unfold over a 2-4 year period of time.

Thats reality. Wake up & make your dreams come true.

I do have both the idea and the script.

I have few people interested in the story but they turned out to be interested only if I GIVE AWAY EVERYTHING!! IS never going to happen!!

This movie will be made my way or no way!!

I prefer to die not having made this film, then make it, giving away all the control and rights to it, to see it made in a way that I do not agreed with.

I do want this movie to be made, but I'm an Artist before anything else and will not fall for any ones money, or promises of success, just by me giving away the rights and the power of final cut to it, it will never happen.

Yes I already have a Producer, and an Executive producer looking in to it, in fact also already been offered to write a Book to go with the movie, well the book will have to come out first.

Same stories, no one so far has agreed with me on what I'm asking, and what I'm asking it is not negotiable, not on this move, I can write many others, in fact I have them, and can make any of them giving away as much as I will be asked to, but not on CHRONICLES OF PERSEVERANCE.

Unfortunately I don't have 2-4 years to wait just to see this movie made, it will have to happen faster, much faster, as I want this movie out for next CHRISTMAS, and I'll do everything I can to make that happen.

One way or an other, I will cut thru the ropes, and right thru that vicious circle, and get to the right people, no matter of what is professionally considered the right approach, I will brake many rules or all of them to make this happen and it will happen, that I promise.

I love your attitude though with it comes a lot of suffering. You are Old School. Thats good. Find someone who loves you and that attitude of yours to fight side by side with you for this vision.

Only someone who loves you personally is going to put in that amount of back breaking work and finance and then let you walk away with the rights.

Forget the word compromise for a moment and use the word sacrifice instead. What are you willing to give in order to get what you want. Since money doesnt grow on trees you need it from someone. So what are you willing to give that person in return if not rights?

Its a business not a charity so if you want to get something you have to also offer something of value for the other persons involved...Unless its someone who personally loves you ( :Hint Hint: )

yes in deed the search is on for some one that will believe on the project and my goals.

When I say I will never give up the rights, or the right to the final cut, I never say that I'm not willing to work out a deal with any one, I AM!!

I will make a fear deal, as you say money doesn't grow on threes, and an investment must be just that an investment, for that I am willing to share the rights to the film and all that is connected to it, but not give them up entirely, sharing for me is the name of the game, it always has been and it always will be.

I love Hollywood, always deed, and there is the main reason why I give up everything I ever knew and loved to come in the pursuit of my America Dream, but I will not let some one turn my story in something different then what is supposed to be, NO MATTER WHAT!!

As far as Charity, this project will in deed give 50% of its proceeds to Charity in aid of abuse children NO MATTER WAHT!!

And I know that no one wants to hear CHARITY, not in the Studios world any way, but it will my way or no way, as in this too I will not budge!!

It is too important to me to make a clear and strong stand for abused children, that I will not make this movie if that can't also be agreed upon.

Ketch, do you mean you want the movie out by christmas '09? or 2010? While I believe you can pull off putting this thing together, getting it in theaters THIS year doesn't really seem possible. I apologize for being a cynic.

Christmas 09 Brandon, but I know as well that it is a next to impossible mission, as I don't even have the funds yet, but this is a very important date as it will mark TWENTY Years from the moment I first set foot in America.

HERE A LITTLE PREVIEW OF THE SCRIPT:

C H R O N I C L E S of P E R S E V E R A N C E
The KETCH ROSSI Life. A True Story.

An Italian Man’s Pursuit of the American Dream and His Unstoppable Journey To The Keeping of a Promise!!

FADE IN:

EXT. FARM HOUSE - DAY
The country side extends for miles.
Finally in the middle of no were, a farm house.

SUPER:
“PIDIXI, SARDEGNA ITALY, CHRISTMAS 1982”

Ketch stands next to a pile of chopped wood on one side and uncut chunks on the other, in the back ground a farm house.
Ketch places big pieces of wood to be chopped on top of a large cut log.
Ketch chops the wood chunk in half with a single stoke of the axe.
An other piece of wood is chopped away with precision and in a single stroke.
The a larger one, is hit, but it doesn’t brake the axe gets stacked in the middle.
Ketch lifts the axe over his head with the piece of wood and reverses the axe hitting it hard with the back of it against the large wood log, chopping the piece of wood clean off the axe.
From the back ground BARBARA, Ketch’s thirteen year old sister, comes in to focus.
As She finally comes in full focus becomes clear that She has been crying, her eyes full of tears, and her face wet with it.

BARBARA
(scared)
Ketch!! Papy wants us in the storage room, now!

Ketch lifts the axe high above his head with one hand and with a strong stroke penetrates the wood log.
He follows Barbara putting his hand over her shoulder as they walk towards the farm house.

INT. FARM HOUSE - KITCHEN - DAY

ANGELA, Ketch’s mother, warms up some milk on a rundown gas stove, She holds GIO’ in her arm, Ketch’s little brother, while ADE, Ketch’s younger sister, She is grabbed on to her mother’s old dress.
Suddenly a loud bang makes Angela’s body jump up.
Tears fall down her face.
An other bang, She jumps up again.
Pain is marked deep in her eyes.
An other bang, She jumps up almost at the same time that She screams out as loud as She can.

ANGELA
IN OOOFFF!!

Both little Gio’ and Ade, start scramming scared.
An other bang. Angela walks towards the door.
The milk comes to a boil, spills over, and shuts the flame off.

INT. FARM HOUSE - STORAGE ROOM - DAY

Blood drips from the large hand of Ketch’s father.
Blood is splattered every were, floor and walls.
Barbara, stands tall, inches away from the wall, her face wet of tears and blood that drips down from her nose and mouth.
She wipes her mouth with the back of her hand.
Ketch lies on the floor.

KETCH’S FATHER
I told you to get up! NOW!! I’m not finished, I just started!
Ketch finds strength and gets him self up, as Barbara tries to help.

KETCH’S FATHER (CONT'D)
Let him go!

Ketch’s face is in far worst condition then his little sister.
On the floor a pool of blood and more drips from his mouth, as it seems that every droplet takes for ever to reach the pool, almost as if time was trying to freeze it self.
Angela suddenly burst’s in to the room, still holding little Gio’ in her arm as Ade continues to hold her self on her mother’s dress.

ANGELA
(screaming in rage)
Are you out of your mind? You are killing my sons!!

Ketch’s father walks towards her.
Angela steps back suddenly, as fear enters and shakes her all body.
Ketch’s father hits her with the back of his open hand.
Angela face inevitably hits little Gio’ in the head, as She is thrown back by the impact. Little Gio’ starts crying loudly.
Angela puts her hand on little Gio’s head.
Ketch’s father, grabs Angela’s dress from behind and starts pulling her violently towards the door.
Angela grabs on to the door frame refusing to be taken out of the room.
Ketch’s father gives a strong pull, and as the dress rips apart exposing her breasts, Angela looses her balance and falls on her back as Ade fallows her fall, not letting go of her mother’s dress.
As Angela gets pulled out of the room Ade is pulled with it, and smashed against the door frame, She cries loudly.
As Ketch’s father reenters the room slamming the door behind him and looking it, Ketch jumps up almost as if He had super powers, He flies half way across the room in one single jump and hits his father in the face with such a brute force that his father is sent blasting against the wall, as blood splatters every were from his mouth.

BARBARA
(shaking Ketch to reality, whispering on his ear)
Ketch... Ketch... I tucked the candies.
Ketch finds the strength and gets up.

KETCH
So this is what is all about? Candies?

BARBARA
Yes the candies that Grandma give mother for our Christmas gift.

KETCH
(to his father as He walks back towards them)
I’m so sorry father... I tucked the candies, please let Barbara go.
Ketch’s father says nothing, but just the look that gives him, makes him shake uncontrollably.
Ketch’s father grabs Barbara and pushes her out of the room.
Angela still remains on the floor with both little Gio’ and Ade snuggled up against her exposed breast, now full of blood from the tree of them.

BARBARA
I’m so sorry mother.

The door slams closed again, and the lock sounds louder then it could realistically ever been, as if it was meant to be shot for ever.
Ketch stands still against the wall, or as still as He can, as his body continues to shake like a leaf in the wind.
His father says nothing, He gets closer to him and strikes him so hard that ketch’s body is thrown against the side wall with such a force that makes him bounce back as if He was a basket ball.
He hits the floor as if He was lifeless.

INT. FARM HOUSE - KETCH’S BEDROOM - NIGHT

Ketch lies in bed, his face looks as if He just had a fight with the heavy weight champion of the world... and lost!
Barbara comes in with Ade and little Gio’, they seat on the bed next to Ketch, now they all look as if they have survived a car crash or something.

ADE
Can you tell as an other of your stories?

BARBARA
No Ade, can’t you see that Ketch needs to rest?

ADE
But just a little tiny one.

KETCH
(trying to force a smile thru his swollen mouth)
Its okay, I’ll tell a story.
Angela walks in to the bedroom, She is also swollen up and has a big lip, but She smiles just the same.

ANGELA
Father is coming now, I told him how brave you were, lying in order to protect your sister, He is proud of you.

Ketch’s pain form his wounds seems suddenly gone, as the trace of a smile illuminates his face, even lifting the half way closed eyes.
His father walks in to the bedroom as well.
He goes straight to Ketch side, not a word.
Suddenly He strikes him in the face with the back of his hand, with such a force that Ketch is sent off his bed on to the floor.

KETCH’S FATHER
That is what you get for lying to me! If you ever lie to me again I’ll kill you.

Ketch jumps up from the floor as if nothing had just happen and with the strength of a Superman grabs his father by the neck dragging him down and pulling him off the bedroom slamming him against the opposite wall, as if He was a suck of potatoes.

ANGELA
(to Ketch snapping him back to reality)
Ketch... Ketch, please say something, are you okay?

KETCH’S FATHER
Leave him, He deserves much worst!

ANGELA
How can you do this to your won son?

KETCH’S FATHER
He is not my son, and it is time that He knows it as well.

Ketch looks at his father in disbelief.

ANGELA
I’m so sorry, my son, I wanted to tell you, I never meant it for you to find out this way.

KETCH
No mother, I’m not okay, I will never be.

Wow Ketch, I don't really know how to put this to you kindly. I think you've lost your focus. You want final cut, the rights to the film, and for a major studio to put up all the money?
Good luck with that. There's a reason Spielberg started his own studio, and it wasn't because the studios were doing right by him. And if you think that making final cut a negotiable point on a contract is going to be viable for you, I've got news for you. It's not. It doesn't matter what your film is. You're just not going to get final cut. At all. Not even one. And it's not negotiable. And if you think it is, you'll be out of the office before your seat is even warm.
Also, you need a major star to appear in your film to make it viable? And at the same time you want to have a say in everything in regards to this film?
Another pipe dream.
If you want this film to get made, then go and shoot a trailer for this film with some of your friends. You use this to go and find some money to make the rest of it. OR (and this is what i would do) you polish the script, and then cast it yourself, and make it in good old school guerilla fashion. This endless "gotta make it work in the big system" idea of yours, in conjunction with the false notion of the American dream that you are trying to achieve, is wasting alot of your precious energy and time, both of which you should be spending onset getting great performances from the MULTITUDE OF REALLY GOOD STAGE AND SCREEN ACTORS OUT THERE shooting the damn film already. That is what will get your story attention, man. A really good finished film. And then you go and make another film, if you decide that's what you want to do.
Alright, enough from my fat mouth, I just can't watch this anymore. I'm not trying to bring you down man. You need to focus. Many of us want you to succeed, but in order to do that, my two cents are that you gotta stop talking and writing about your script, and follow Yoda.

Well Evolve, I don't think you could have put it in any different way, and I in fact appreciate both the honesty, opinion, advise and support.

Truth is, I know all the above written very well, as I have been at it for many years now, but still nothing has change as this matters to much to me.

I have opened my own small studios (and closed them:( ) for the exact same reasons above described by you, and will do so again asap as I get better and back home, till then I continue to look for ways to get there.

And yes Final Cut, is not negotiable from my hand, I will in fact bot even take a seat if that is not understood fro the beginning.

I know I'm arrogant, but it is my story, in fact it is much more then that, it is my life.

I think that is all in good faith, and I know that my self I do need some time a awaking call to reality, but nonetheless I'll never stop DREAMING and PERSEVERING !!

Also I do fill that some times I write too much in this forum, but this is truly the only place I can let my self be heard, and listen to others as well.

I don't think any of my Uncles back at the farm town will know what in hell I'm talking about, unless off course I talk about Sheep and Cheese making :)
