I lost small metal part from the EVF cable, which is shaped like hexagon thing(see the attached picture).

I asked red team, but they replied they don't sell the small parts so I have to buy a whole new cable - costs 180$ - if I want to fix the cable.

the cable it self is not broken at all but only that part is missing.

does anybody can sell that part only?

anyone interested, give me a call.

Maybe you should try again. I had one missing as well (out of the box) and RED just sent me two new ones. Alternatively you can go to a machine shop and have one or more made, most likely a lot cheaper than a new cable.

wow. that's something surprising. maybe my writing skill was not good enough :(

I'll send it to them one more time. thank you for your kind info.

and about the machine shop, sad thing is there is no that kind of shop in Korea. we should buy everything from the internet and wait for the overseas delivery. with additional shipping charge. that's pretty painful.

According to this thread:

http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=18682

RED had a few spare caps which they gave away and have probably run out by now. As they are not an official Lemo distributor they can't officially sell Lemo parts. When you get replacements it'd be a good idea to use some "threadlock" compound to prevent accidental loosening and loss of the caps in future. Don't get the permanent type of threadlock or you'll never be able to undo the cap if you ever need to remake a damaged cable!

Again according to the above mentioned thread (I haven't verified them), the part numbers are as follows:

EVF cable connector is Lemo part # FHG.1B.316.CLAD.72Z
Hexagonal cap Lemo part # FHG.1B.140.LC

Finding a local Lemo reseller is probably the cheapest option, although most probably will only sell complete connectors rather than just the cap.

Good luck.

These plugs fall apart strait out of the box. They need locktiteing. On another thread Red did have spares of these because of the problem.

When you get a new cable(s) - you need to tighten these - and periodically check them if your gear goes out on rental.

But I have found that if you tighten them too much the plug lock/unlock mechanism doesn't work anymore...

Threadlock is better than overtorqueing them!

Everyone should put a drop of Locktite glue on these parts.
